Acupuncture FAQs

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a form of therapy in which fine needles are inserted into specific points on the body.

Is acupuncture safe?

Yes. Potential risks are outlined in the consent form. The own risk over 1% is bleeding and serious side effects are very rare – less than one per 10,000 treatments.

Does acupuncture work?

Yes. There are many large studies on acupuncture, and it is statistically significantly better than placebo. The specific techniques used are clinical proven. Many patients, such as headache sufferers, experience immediate relief of symptoms

Do I need to prepare for the treatment?

Generally no. However, we recommend you having routine meals, avoiding coffee 2 hours before the consultation, and choosing cloth with easy access to forearms and legs.
