Massage Therapy FAQs

What can I expect in my first Massage appointment?

On the day of your confirmed appointment, you should arrive 15 minutes early to complete the required documentation including your client intake form, which will give your therapist background information regarding your health and lifestyle and why you’re seeking treatment.

Generally, if treating the full body, the therapist will then leave the room so clients can disrobe to their underwear and lay face down on the massage table, covering themselves with the towel available. Your therapist will then return and adjust the table, cushioning and towels to ensure your comfort during treatment.

During treatment you are free to chat to your therapist or remain silent – it’s entirely up to you!

After your treatment your therapist will leave you to re-dress and then meet you at the reception desk to rebook.

How long should I book my appointment for?

Generally, massage appointments are for 60 minutes to ensure that sufficient time is given to discuss the main concerns and incorporate treatment. If you have a condition that you believe will not require this amount of time, please feel free to contact us to discuss this and we will work to accommodate requests. We also offer 30 minutes, 45 minutes and 90 minutes sessions as well.

Is it normal to feel sore after a massage?

It is very common for muscles to be sore for up to two to three days after a massage, especially if it has been an extended period of time between treatments. This is completely normal and nothing to be worried about. We recommend gentle movement, and increasing your fluid intake to help your body recover.

Massage therapy visits are always one on one, and duration is based on your appointment time booked.

What if I arrive late for my appointment?

We understand the ‘life happens’ & we try to be as flexible and accommodating as we can for all clients.   However, late arrival could result in shortened treatment time, so as not to delay the following client & you will be charged accordingly.  As you can appreciate, we have other clients arriving on time for their appointment so we need to ensure their session is on time.  However, if we have had a cancellation or do have time available, we may be able to extend your session for the full massage or treatment time frame.  If you are running late we are unable to ‘make up’ time at a later date.
